A letter from the girl who loves to escape reality

Dear you,

It's that time of year again, when everyone goes all out on the scary (or not-so-scary) costumes and
either go trick-or-treating or go to Halloween parties (or if you're like me, you'll rope someone in to watch a Halloween-esque movie, this year's for me is The Nightmare Before Christmas!)

As a little girl, I used to love Halloween,
I'd go out trick-or-treating with some friends and now I'm older I've realised that the reason why I loved Halloween, was because I could pretend to be someone I'm not, I got to escape reality even if it was only for a couple of hours.
Now I'm older, I don't take part in all the Halloween festivities at all, I grew out of it I guess.
I think I realised that I didn't have to just escape reality for a few hours one day out of the year, but I could do it all year round, every single day, it doesn't really matter where I am, a book, or a bookshop aren't going to be far away!
I escape reality into the universes and lives of the people in the books I read, not into whatever costume I may decide to wear that year.
And trust me, it's a whole lot better to escape into books rather than into a character.

Starting Fresh

So how the story goes is...
I had an old blog, I slowly got bored of it and then it sort of just fizzled out a few weeks ago..
So here I am! I had a bright idea for a blog today, writing posts in letter form, I'm really into the whole poetry/prose kinda thing but I don't think I could write all my posts in that format so here I am writing it in letter format!

It's just gonna be bits and bobs about my life and my thoughts mainly, my old blog was really not what I was about by the end of it!

So sit back, relax and hope that this doesn't fizzle out too!
